Matthew has had a few exciting things happen recently. First, he learned to ride his bike without training wheels! His Papa Richard taught him. Matthew informed us that we were teaching him wrong because John was trying to help him balance and push the seat from the back. Papa Richard evidently has some experience in this area and knew just how to help Matthew. Apparently it is much easier to learn if the person holds you by one shoulder and onto one handle bar. Who knew!!
Matthew also recently entered the Speech Meet at his school. He did a great job and got 2nd place, bringing home a beautiful red ribbon! He now gets to advance to the ACSI District Speech Meet next month. His poetry entry was A Little Bird...
A Little Bird

"What do you have for breakfast?"
I asked a little bird,
"Orange juice and cereal?"
He didn't say a word
He merely ate a flower seed
And something from a limb
Which might, I guess, be cereal
And orange juice--for him!
